This year’s keynote address, Monday, June 14, "What Can You See From the Crow's Nest?", presented by Dr. Lynn Lary, Instructional Technology Specialist from Springfield, OR, will cover strategies you can use to expand the use of technology in your classroom. [Details]
Bring your laptops! - In the afternoon, following the keynote and lunch, Dr. Lary will hold two breakout sessions, “Weigh Anchor and Hoist the Mizzen! Using What’s on Your Ship”, plus Dr. Ann Minckler will offer two breakout sessions, "Computers, Cell Phones and Kids: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!"
OPI Renewal Units and Graduate Credits - As always, the courses you attend during MIET will be eligible for either OPI Renewal Units, (one hour of class time = one renewal unit) or two (2) graduate credits - this year through MSU - Northern - with a minimum of 30 hours of classtime attended during the conference. Montana Business Education Association (MBEA) is providing reduced registration fees for its members, $100/wk or $25/day, and will be hosting an evening social. Information on this event, which will be for ALL Montana business/marketing teachers, will be available at the registration desk. The Vendor Fair [Details]
There will be a vendor fair on Wednesday, June 16 and Thursday, June 17 that will include some of the largest software and technology distributors from across Montana.
FREE Lunches, refreshments and Vendor Reception/Horsdeuvres!
All lunches and refreshments are included in your Institute fee. The delicious lunches will be catered by different area restaurants daily, plus the vendor reception on Wednesday evening will be catered with horsdeuvres so you can eat and still walk around visiting the vendor booths!

Known casually as the “tech rats” through their blog/web mail connection with OPI, this group of K-12 technology coordinators and directors from school districts across Montana will be joining us and having their own “Institute
within an Institute” to share experiences and training as well as to formalize their organization by choosing a permanent group name, setting up committees and electing officers. [Details]
